I accidentally left my new sunglasses there on a Sat night, and when I called the next day Miss Wanda said she had them waiting for me. She made my day! Buttons was a very good experience overall! This place is very casual. Could use some updating on the furniture. Also, menus need to be updated if you no longer serve certain dishes or if they are prepared differently.
The home potatoes were too greasy. Went for Sunday brunch! It was amazing! Jazz was playing! Really enjoyed! She was a little forgetful and slow. One of my favorites for soul food. Made my Anniversary Special! Server was professional. Food was delicious but need to update their appetizer options. I believe we came on the wrong day. Everything we ordered off the menu we were told they don't have. Selection was scarce. I have gone before and enjoyed myself. I will come back any way again.
Food was subpar. Service was slow. The food and atmosphere was excellent. Great service. Our server was new but did a good job under the direction of the senior server. Heard a little music which was wonderful too!!! Button's does not honor reservations. That in itself is worth going again. But the two things that could be better were service not enough servers for the crowd so it took too long to get something.
Also, the band played short sets took too long of a break. They were fabulous though! Our server was fast efficient and friendly. She made sure we had what we needed in enough time to not have to wait long.
The silly Philly cheese steak was delicious and cooked just right! Being from Philly this was close I normally get the pot roast, in which I did to take home for dinner was a bit tough to chew this time usually it is very tender and requires little effort to chew. Suggest cooking that pot roast a little longer and adding more gravy. Overall, good spot to enjoy even on a rainy day.
Buttons is an excellent restaurant to enjoy dining and live music. The restaurant is clean and people generally are dressed well for dining out which adds to the overall experience. I would have given my dining experience a five star, but we had to wait more than 15 minutes to be seated at a table that had been reserved.
Overall, my birthday party group had a great time. Thank you for helping to make my night special! It'll be a long time before we return to this restaurant. When we first started dining here, and we've been here several times one in which I fell ill from eating their over cooked cabbage greens , it was so much fun. Patrons were dressed appropriately for the venue and it was adult oriented. Now, people are coming in shorts, jeans, flip flops and socks, and other attire not fitting for this type of restaurant and bringing small children.
If it was in the day light hours I probably wouldn't have such an issue, but this was after 7pm when the band was playing and the adult atmosphere was in full swing. They don't have as many menu choices as they used to have either so our dining experience alone was dissappointing.
We were totally disappointed with everything but our server and the band. I hope they get it together and get back to what made them the "go to" spot for adult dining and entertainment.
Word of mouth can kill your business and if someone asks me, I am definitely going to honestly tell them of our experience.
If we ever go back, I will take photos. Celebrated a birthday. My family and I really enjoyed Buttons. I did not give a five star because we were not aware we had a 2 hour limit at our table. We went on a Saaturday night. There were 4 in our party. Featured Properties Swipe. This property is listed by: Taylor Jackson tjackson greenwoodking.
