So she packed up her things into a U-Haul van, and she drove cross-country so she could follow her dreams.
This was all at age When her child was born, she named him Davion. When she was young, she always loved singing and performing. She also loved theatrics and all things related to it. So, she started her quest to look for a band. In she tried out for the band current band In This Moment but the interviewer Chris Howorth didn't want a girl. Later, in a bar, Maria showed Chris what she could do during Karaoke. He then hired her into the band.
They originally called he band Dying Star. Not happy with the direction the band was going, they renamed the band In This Moment. Maria Brink is all for empowering people. Maria, Chris, and Jeff formed a band called Dying Star soon after her audition, but after only two gigs, they put the kibosh on that. For the In This Moment song , Maria took a completely organic approach.
To achieve the layered vocal effect, she overlayed 50 tracks of vocals on top of one another. To achieve the sound of the heart beat, she beat the microphone against her chest.
During her teen years, Maria was severely depressed, even bordering on suicidal. The birth of her son caused her to snap out of her funk. Maria has her very own personal assistant named Avisia.
