The next few times it was just something to do, just mediocre. The last time I won't go into the issue because it probably doesn't happen all day everyday, but I will say that it left me feeling like we should have spent our money elsewhere. The prices aren't very good considering there really aren't many attractions. There were more rides a year ago, since then they've closed some down. The first trip in comparison to the last were like night and day. We are NO longer fans of Dixieland. I dont know what this person is complaining about.
I took my family to Dixieland this Oct and had a great time. Went to 6 flags earlier this year and had to pay full price to ride nothing. It rained on us as well while we were there. The outside rides did close down but were opened after it stopped. Now I grant you that the go karts and the slide did not open but the employees were really nice about it and told us it was for safety reasons which I totally understand.
Overall we had a great time and will be going back soon! I went to the park yesterday and was highly disappointed. I use to go to the park all the time but after yesterday I will not be going back I will just pay the price to go to Six Flags. Then you have to spend money to play the games in the arcade room. I waited for 2 hrs for the rain to stop and it did but they refused to open the outside area back up even though the park didn't close to 10pm.
Dixieland is no longer a great inexpensive place to take the family for a day out on the southside of town. Will just pay the price at Six Flags where they got more rides and alot more to do. I highly recommend this park to everyone whether you have a family or not I've gone there with my kids and without and this is just an all around great park. Route 66 treats youngsters to a spin in one of Dixieland's beautiful antique roadsters. The Yukon Adventure let kids experience an "off-road'' safari in a jeep. The Playmaze offers little ones a chance to climb and explore to their hearts' content with a series of tunnels, as well as a maze. Also included as part of the Playmaze area is a beautiful indoor Ferris wheel. Food options include a wide selection of all your favorite amusement park and fair foods and cover both sit-down dining options, as well as grab-and-go choices from stands located throughout the park.
