Spoilers here, and i think this is correct: If you support Anora, don't harden Alistair and don't kill Logain, I think she has Alistair executed.
If you do kill Logain, she tries to have Alistair executed after the final battle. I believe this is dependent on wherever or not you managed to convince Anora and Alistair to marry each other. User Info: Liso Spoilers Alistair not hardened and not killing Loghain, Alistair will leave.. As in forever!!! Alistair not hardened, Loghain dead, Anora made queen.
Alistair will abdicate the throne and stay a GW There is another path, you can have Anora execute Alistair. I just remembered that Anora mentions me being her betrothed during the ceremony at the end, but Leliana will not mention Anora if I talk to her after the ceremony before I leave. February Just out of curiosity, I opened the Toolset and pulled up Anora's dialogue file. What I can tell you is that Anora's conversation is a veritable field of landmines - :catlol:. Unfortunately, after following the flags and checking the corresponding plot files, it would appear that - in some circumstances presented by less orthodox conversation paths - you can wind up having one part of a conversation that will set all of the flags necessary to trigger the marriage of Anora and a male Cousland Warden, then by choosing another conversation option, one of the flags will be unset or reset to a different state, and that will cause the overall plot item to fail because not all of the required flags are set.
Confusing if you aren't a programmer or familliar with the logic, but basically, what I can tell you is that if you initially receive the line from Anora:.
Then at some point, you have said something that will guarantee she will betray you at the Landsmeet. If you are getting her agreement to the marriage and she is NOT betraying you at the Landsmeet, then for some reason, your save has a glitch that has caused one of the necessary flags to not be set.
Since you said that you also had the Landsmeet stuck in your quest log, I am guessing that the flag that is not properly setting is the one that tells the game that the Landsmeet is actually OVER. It is also one of the flags that the game looks at before it even checks the flags for what will be listed in the Epilogue, which is likely why you got the ending where Anora ruled alone. After working on many fan-created mods and working on a few things of my own, I have also noticed that most of the time I've run into the glitch with the Landsmeet being stuck in the quest log like that, it has involved a male Cousland Warden who wished to marry Anora.
It may be a bad assumption, but I'm guessing that if I filtered through all of the various files and the logic connected to them, I would find that the bug is, indeed, triggered by Anora's conversation file. I have also noticed that it seems to happen more often on console versions of the game, or on PC versions where players have fan-created mods that alter any of the Landsmeet plots or dialogue files.
Probably WAY more information that you really wanted. I'm a total game geek, so Sorry, but maybe this explains the problem a little? Anyway, as I said, I do some fan modding, and I am intimately familliar with the toolset. If this is a genuine glitch that is messing up the game for a lot of people, then one would hope that BioWare would patch it, but since the game has been out for so very long, I'm guessing they're really more interested in supporting their current games than their older ones, and it's not gonna happen.
If you and others have a real interest in a fix, I would be willing to take a stab at a fan-made patch. If it's mostly just your interest and one glitched save, if you would be willing to send me the save file, I would be happy to take a look at it and see which flags are at fault and set them for you so that you can load it and then hopefully get the dialogues and scenes you were expecting.
Help us improve Answers HQ! There are two methods depending on whether you want Loghain alive or dead. Killing Loghain is the easiest method to Alistair becoming King. His death is an important matter to Alistair. He will be killed by Alistair himself if he is chosen to face Loghain in one-on-one combat.
If not, you will have to choose for Loghain to be killed. With Loghain dead, Alistair can either be king alone, jointly with a noble female warden, or with Anora as long as he wasn't the one who killed Loghain. If the player wants Loghain to live and for Alistair to be king, then their decisions at the Landsmeet are much more limited. The only way for Alistair to become king while Loghain is still alive is to marry Anora.
Not only that, but the player must make sure Alistair is hardened. Alistair, like Leliana, is a character that can be hardened during his personal quest. Most guides advise hardening him if the player wants to make him king. Basically, a hardened Alistair has more confidence and is willing to put duty above feelings.
